ALUMINA BALLS
FOR CATALYST SUPPORTS IN PETROCHEMICALS AND FERTILIZER INDUSTRY XIETA®–99

These balls are manufactured with a high percentage of alumina in its highest grade of
calcination, which provides them with excellent mechanical properties and high
resistance to thermal stress. Due to their high purity and low silica content, these balls
are specifically designed for high-temperature applications in harsh environments
where acids and high-temperature steam are present.
The XIETA®-99 ball is especially recommended for use in heat exchange applications,
such as regenerative burners, and in DBF (Deep Bed Filter) systems in the metal casting
industry, such as the aluminum industry.
In addition to these applications, they are also successfully used as support material in
catalysts in the chemical and petrochemical industries. They are also used exclusively
in the secondary reformers of fertilizer plants during ammonia-urea production
processes. Furthermore, they are recommended for use as filling media in packing
towers.
Very high hardness and mechanical strength
Excellent wear resistance
Completely corrosion-free
Very high resistance to chemical attack
Extremely smooth, regular, and uniform surface
